​Greetings! I am Jess Gulati!

 

I am a licensed therapist with work experience of 15 plus years in community mental health and recently in a Correctional facility. I also have experience in community crisis and ER psyche assessments.

 

My core beliefs which inspire my counseling approach are that our emotional well being is based upon our self awareness and self acceptance and over coming denial . Our environment can influence us but it is our choice to decide how we let it impact us!

Our behavior is need based and once we become aware of our needs and priorities, we can change our self talk to empower ourselves to utilize our own potential to limit self sabotage and work towards actualizing our potential! We can choose to not become victim to our emotions/past/circumstances.

My counseling approach is inspired by knowledge of Freudian defense mechanisms, Ego states of Transactional analysis, Principles of Inside Out empowerment of the Choice theory and CBT (the thought, feeling , action cycle and thinking distortions we fall prey to).

My endeavor will be to provide unconditional positive regard and create a safe space to facilitate clients to prioritize and meet their own needs and goals!
